If we are going to build manufacturing capability in the United States, we need to adjust our ideas on education.  We cannot produce high quality, competitive products without a skilled and competent workforce.  A bachelor’s degree is not the only way to be successful in America.  There is a serious skills gap in America and despite what some say, critical thinking and gray matter are needed in manufacturing and the trades.  These types of good-paying jobs are what will boost America’s middle class.
